Paris 2023 World Para Athletics Championship

Very proud of Team Namibia delivering 10 days of hard work on the track and the field.

Being part of the major event like this before #Paris2024 you can only tape yourselves on the back because qualifying takes hard work. Well done to all our athletes. They brought home 3 Silver medals from Lahja Ishitile T11 Women 400m, Ananias Shikongo T11 Men 100m and Johannes Nambala T13 400m.

Besides the silver wear, several records were broken by Lahja Ishitile setting African records. Personal best times from the rest of team where achieved. We are very proud of the Para athletes as they continue to achieve on the track.

We would like to thank our Guide runners Sem Shimanda and Even Tjiuiju for the job well done in leading our T11 athlete Lahja Ishitile and Ananias Shikongo to the victory. With all the experiences learnt at the Paris 2023 we build towards Paris 2024.

Thank you to our Official Sponsor Nampower Foundation and Ministry of Sports, Youth and National Service, we would have done this without the financial support.
