Namibia Paralympic Committee have been working hand in hand with the Namib Lion Academy to introduce Goalball at the Visual Impaired School in Katutura. This project is spear headed by Daniel Le Cozic as part of the Generation 2024 Legacy Program. The objective of this program is first of all to solidify the team spirit and communication within the students while promoting physical activity. In one year, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will begin with the first Opening Ceremony to be held outside of a stadium and the Athletes’ Parade staged on the most famous avenue in France. France’s first summer Paralympic Games will take place between 28 August and 8 September 2024, featuring 549 medal events across 22 Para sports. About 4,400 athletes from around the world will showcase the best of Para sports in the City of Light. There will be amazing sporting feats, new records and moments that will be remembered

Very proud of Team Namibia delivering 10 days of hard work on the track and the field. Being part of the major event like this before #Paris2024 you can only tape yourselves on the back because qualifying takes hard work. Well done to all our athletes. They brought home 3 Silver medals from Lahja Ishitile T11 Women 400m, Ananias Shikongo T11 Men 100m and Johannes Nambala T13 400m. Besides the silver wear, several records were broken by Lahja Ishitile setting African records. Personal best times from the rest of team where achieved.

Our Para Athletes are on the way to Europe to compete in both Jesolo 2023 and Nottwil 2023 Grand Prix ! This will help them improve their rankings for the Paris 2023 World Para Athletics Championship comming up in July !
