1 YEAR TO GO –PARALYMPIC GAMES

Preparations of the Games are going on for athletes around the world to be able to meet and share different competition venues come 2021. Team Namibia will be looking forward to represent the country with pride and honour as the Games will bring the best memories of how all athletes all over the world have been strong and training hard to compete at their best. Our athletes will be united by emotions and still do what they love the most.

Today marks the 1 year to go for the Paralympic Games, 24 August -4 September 2021. The Games may have been postponed, but our athletes are working harder than ever to look forward to these games come 2021. The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be a global celebration of human endeavour, resilience and hope.

To mark the One Year to Go mark, the International Paralympic Committee have launched a campaign called #WaitForTheGreats which highlights the determination of Para athletes to prepare themselves next year’s Paralympic Games.

Rising Phoenix will be released on the 26th of August on Netflix simultaneously in 190 countries. It’s all about the power of sports, It’s all about humanity, with a track song that shares lyrics of how day-to-day our athletes are defined differently and yet they are beyond what different people see. As a member of the International Paralympic Committee, we are delighted to see athletes all over the World taking up space and cementing the power of the Paralympic Movement., the power of sports.
